We know through experience, education, and training that treating small dental issues before they become big issues leads to happier, healthier patients!

I’m A New Patient. What Can I Expect?

During your initial visit, we perform a comprehensive exam using our state-of-the art technology and a gentle, personal touch. We can help reduce and prevent the most common dental issues such as tooth decay, cavities, and gum disease.

As part of your comprehensive exam at Perfect Choice Dental, we provide a dental cleanings, which usually takes about 25 to 30 minutes to remove plaque and tartar from all tooth surfaces. Polish completes the cleaning, making the surface of the teeth smooth and minimizing future plaque build-up.

Cleanings should be performed every six months to prevent excessive plaque buildup. Plaque left untreated can lead to unhealthy gums, gum disease, and tooth decay!

Your routine dental cleaning will include:

Digital imaging, which provides you with a detailed image of your entire mouth. The visual information provided in these advanced images gives both you and your dentist the knowledge and understanding of your current oral health, and the direction it is heading in.

In addition, digital imaging reduce your radiation exposure by as much as 90% when compared to what is emitted during traditional radiographs. X-rays help us detect decay, tumors, cysts and bone loss, as well as allow us to get a good view of your teeth and their roots.

Oral cancer screening We will review your face, neck, lips, tongue, throat, tissues and gums for signs of oral cancer.

Gum disease evaluation We will check your gums and bones for signs of periodontal disease. Gum disease is caused by a build of bacteria in the mouth that collects around and below the gum line, causing inflammation and irritation and triggering an immune response from the body.

The initial, most mild stage is gingivitis. You might not feel anything or notice a change. We will eliminate this bacteria build up and will be able to assess your mouth for signs that are imperceptible to anyone but an expert.

Left untreated, gingivitis can progress into periodontal disease, where the connection between the gums and teeth breaks down. In addition to likely tooth loss, serious gum disease is also linked to breathing issues and respiratory disease, heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and other systemic health issues.

Examination of existing restorations If you have any current fillings, crowns, or sealants, we will check to make sure they are in good shape and functioning properly. We offer beautiful restorations such as dental implants, dental crowns, and veneers for patients who need to replace missing or pulled teeth or update previous restoration work.
